On June 10, the Champaign Farmers Market will return to its former location at the southern end of the parking lot at Neil and Washington, next to the newly completed Downtown Plaza. The market is hosted by The Land Connection and will be open every Tuesday through October 28 from 3 to 6 p.m. Both the City of Champaign and The Land Connection staff have expressed their enthusiasm for this new setup.
In addition to local vendors, there will be new musical programming provided by the City of Champaign called Rhythm and Roots on the Plaza main stage. Visitors can enjoy live music while shopping, as well as participate in activities such as visiting an experience tent and playing games.
This year's market is designated as a Downtown Festival District. This allows adults to purchase alcoholic beverages from nearby businesses while they shop or enjoy performances at the Downtown Plaza.
