Illinois women's golf prepares for debut at Florida State Match Up

The Fighting Illini women's golf team is set to participate in the Florida State Match Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Florida. The tournament, hosted by Florida State University, will run from March 21 through March 23.

The Seminole Legacy Golf Club, designed by Bill Amick in 1962 and renovated in 2020 by the Nicklaus Design Group, will host the event. The course is a par 72 and measures 6,250 yards.

A total of 13 teams will compete in this 54-hole tournament. Tee times are scheduled for 7:45 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday’s tee times start at 7:00 a.m. CT. Each day will consist of an 18-hole round.

In addition to Illinois, other participating teams include Abilene Christian, Alabama, Chattanooga, FIU, Florida State, Houston, Indiana, Kent State, Missouri, North Florida, Troy and Tulane.

The Fighting Illini lineup features Victoria Zheng at No.1 followed by Anna Ritter at No.2 and Brielle Mapanao at No.3. Yurang Li and Lexanne Halama fill positions four and five respectively with Erica Lee competing as an individual.

This marks the first time Illinois will compete in the Florida State Match Up. Live scoring can be tracked on Golfstat.com with daily recaps available on FightingIllini.com.

Following this tournament, Illinois will prepare for their next competition at the Boilermaker Spring Classic starting April 6 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
