State Senator Chapin Rose | Illinois General Assembly
The Illinois General Assembly commenced its 104th biennial session on January 8, with lawmakers gathering at the State Capitol in Springfield. Senator Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) was among those present for the inauguration, marking a new legislative term.
"We have a lot of challenges to face in the new General Assembly," said Senator Rose. "It is good to be back but let’s not forget Governor Prtizker, by his own admission, has dug us into a nearly 3-billion-dollar budget hole, and that is just his numbers. This state needs to do a lot of things. I will be introducing legislation dealing with the reality of where the State of Illinois is, in contrast to the extreme progressive leftist policies that have been shoved down the throats of citizens by Governor Pritzker and his allies."
For the first time in several years, senators returned to their historic chamber following extensive renovations completed for this occasion. The start of a new two-year General Assembly offers an opportunity for reflection on past lessons and commitment renewal towards addressing current issues while exploring fresh opportunities for Illinois.
Senator Rose aims to address several areas including Governor Pritzker's billion-dollar budget concerns, immigration control, tax relief for families, public safety enhancement, parents' rights advocacy, election integrity assurance, agriculture development, and other local matters.
