Village of Fisher Planning and Zoning Commission met Dec. 12
Here are the minutes provided by the commission:
Roll Call: Heiser-Present, Welborn-Present, McCool-Present, Pierce - Absent, Bayler-Present
Public comment:
Brett Pierce spoke about 5 Acre development and gave input on details regarding plans and how he believes it will help the community. Said that the Letter “B” townhomes would be the first to be developed. Development would like to start in spring 2025 at earliest.
Zach Harrel expressed concern over property values being affected by this development. Said his wife has spoken with realtors who explain that data shows properties decreasing by $10,000+ when multifamily is built nearby. Says the community would benefit more from single family to get people who are committed to this community.
Tara Harrel expressed concern about section 8/low-income tenants.
Dick Johnson asked if the proposed road would ultimately go all the way to the school – petitioners explained that the road would end at the end of their 5acres.
Eric Simmnick asked about drainage and petitioners explained the expected plan for drainage. The drainage will move southwest to the creek and will not go out towards 1st street.
Marlon Unzicker asked if the units would have garages/driveways. Petitioners stated that the townhomes and duplexes would have garages and driveways and that the apartments would be a standard parking lot.
New Business:
Committee voted 3 to 1 in favor of rezone from agricultural to R2 Multifamily. The committee put several contingencies on the rezone. The first is that the property must be sold to Brett Pierce and company before being zoned. The petitioners must install a fence along the south side of the property. The petitioners must enter into an RDA with the village.
