No. 22 Illinois concluded its West Coast road trip with a narrow victory over Washington, winning 81-77 at Alaska Airlines Arena on Sunday afternoon. The game was tightly contested, with the Huskies managing to tie the score at 75 in the final minute. However, Kasparas Jakucionis secured the win for Illinois with a crucial layup and free throws in the closing seconds.

Jakucionis led his team with 18 points, six assists, and five rebounds. His performance included four points in the last minute of play. Tre White contributed significantly as well, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds.

Kylan Boswell added 14 points in the second half after going scoreless in the first half. He also recorded four rebounds and an assist. Tomislav Ivisic came close to a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds, while Ben Humrichous added seven points and six rebounds.

Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn provided eight points off the bench during a brief but impactful stretch in the first half.

Illinois set an early pace by starting with a 10-2 run within four-and-a-half minutes of play. Despite Washington's efforts to catch up through effective three-point shooting, Illinois maintained their lead throughout most of the game.

The Illini's advantage grew to double digits several times during both halves but was challenged by Washington's persistent offense. In response to a late-game tie from Washington, Jakucionis' decisive actions helped secure Illinois' victory.

With this win, Illinois improves its Big Ten record to 3-1 this season and extends its winning streak to four games. The team will return home for two upcoming games starting Wednesday against Penn State at State Farm Center.

Kasparas Jakucionis has been consistently strong this season, reaching double figures for nine consecutive games and leading his team in scoring twelve times overall.
