The Big Ten Conference has recognized 14 players from Illinois with All-Big Ten honors, announced on the Big Ten Network. Among those honored, Xavier Scott received a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team, Pat Bryant was named to the Second Team, and J.C. Davis, Gabe Jacas, and Hank Beatty were selected for the Third Team.
In offensive awards, Pat Bryant stood out with his second-team selection. He ranked second in receiving yards (984) and tied for first in receiving touchdowns (10) within the conference. "He led the nation with three game-winning touchdown catches in the final minute/overtime this season," noted Illinois' report. Luke Altmyer, who contributed significantly to these achievements, earned an honorable mention after leading Illinois to its first nine-win season since 2007.
All four starting members of Illinois' offensive line received recognition. J.C. Davis made it to the Third Team while Josh Kreutz, Josh Gesky, and Melvin Priestly were given honorable mentions.
On defense, Xavier Scott's performance earned him a place on the First Team by media votes and Second Team by coaches' votes. This marks four consecutive seasons where Illinois has had a defender on the All-Big Ten First Team. Gabe Jacas was included in the Third Team as a defensive lineman due to his notable statistics in sacks and fumble recoveries.
Honorable mentions went to Dylan Rosiek for his consistent performance over two years and TeRah Edwards and Matthew Bailey for their contributions this season.
Kenenna Odeluga was recognized with Illinois' Big Ten Sportsmanship Award after overcoming a severe leg injury last season.
Special teams saw Hank Beatty earn Third Team honors as he led the Big Ten in punt return average at 14.7 yards per return. Lane Hansen and David Olano also received honorable mentions for their roles as long snapper and kicker respectively.
