Staff from the Equity and Engagement Department, along with Chief Tyler of the Champaign Police, participated in FACE-LIFT's inaugural Youth Leadership Symposium on Friday, November 22, 2024. The event was organized by LIFT (Leading Individuals and Families to Transformation) Champaign. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Champaign Unit 4 School District and the City of Champaign.
The symposium focused on cultural history and strategies for effective leadership aimed at enhancing everyday life. Community leaders gathered for a day dedicated to collaboration and learning. More than 45 students attended the event, where they had opportunities to win gift cards through raffles.
