Illinois volleyball has announced the addition of five new members to its program for the 2025 class. Head coach Chris Tamas expressed enthusiasm about the recruits, stating, "We are excited to announce these five players today as our 2025 class. They possess a lot of skill over their respective positions and all of them have played at a very high level, whether it be high school, club, or our National Team Development Program." He added that they look forward to integrating them into the team dynamics at Huff Hall.

The recruits include Alyssa Aguayo from Phoenix, Arizona; Taryn Kirsch from Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Gabriella Pitcel from Mukwonago, Wisconsin; Sophi Randall from Dell Rapids, South Dakota; and Ava Wysocki from Kildeer, Illinois. Each player brings significant achievements and accolades in their high school and club careers.

Alyssa Aguayo is recognized for her versatile playing style and leadership qualities. Coach Tamas commented on her performance saying she has been integral to her teams' successes: "She has a wide array of shots to go along with a powerful arm."

Taryn Kirsch is known for her defensive skills and commitment on the court. According to Coach Tamas, "The thing that impressed us the most about TK was her ability to just go after every ball."

Gabriella Pitcel's strength lies in her versatility and speed on the block. Coach Tamas noted she will be an asset both offensively and defensively: "GP is a very versatile and fast player."

Sophi Randall stands out for her setting abilities. Coach Tamas praised her skill set by stating: "Sophie has one of the best deliveries of a set that I have seen."

Ava Wysocki rounds out the group with impressive energy and agility as an opposite hitter. Coach Tamas described her as having "a quick jump and a live arm."

Each player cited different reasons for choosing Illinois but highlighted the strong community feel within the program as a deciding factor.
