Illinois volleyball has unveiled its nonconference schedule for the upcoming 2025 season, featuring nine matches, including two at their home venue, Huff Hall. The announcement was made on Wednesday.
The team will kick off the season on August 29 with a neutral-site match against South Dakota State at Northern Iowa. Following this, they will compete against Vanderbilt in the inaugural Broadway Block Party event at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on August 31. This will be only the second match ever for Vanderbilt's program.
The Illini will then travel to face Notre Dame on September 5 and the previous year's NCAA runner-up Louisville on September 7. They are also set to participate in a tournament hosted by Illinois State, where they will play against Cincinnati, Miami (Fla.), and Illinois State from September 12 to 14.
Concluding their non-conference schedule, Illinois will host Iowa State on September 19 and Eastern Illinois on September 21 at Huff Hall.
Under the guidance of head coach Chris Tamas, now entering his ninth season, Illinois volleyball has achieved a record of 149-94 and five appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
