Sara Jass shines as scholar athlete with record-breaking swim performances

Sara Jass, a sophomore majoring in kinesiology, has been recognized for her outstanding performance in swimming and diving. She played a crucial role in leading the Fighting Illini team to a 156-106 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores at ARC Pool last Saturday. The Illinois team set five pool records during this meet.

Jass contributed significantly by setting two of these new records. She excelled in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.12, which now stands as the program's second-best time. Additionally, she set a record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:15.46. In another event, Jass secured second place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.32.

Hailing from Geneva, Illinois, Jass maintains an impressive GPA of 3.92 while pursuing her degree.
