The Illinois women's gymnastics team, currently ranked No. 24, is set to face Rutgers in a Big Ten competition at Huff Hall in Champaign, Illinois. The event will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. CT.
Since their first encounter in 2015, the Illini have maintained an unbeaten record against the Scarlet Knights during the regular season, boasting a 9-0 streak.

In the match against Penn State, senior Emily Leese stood out by winning the vault with her first score of 9.9 for the season on this apparatus. She also tied with fellow senior Emily Wood for first place on floor exercises, both achieving scores of 9.875.
Senior Avery Balser secured third place on bars with a score of 9.850 while sophomore Rachael Riley achieved her career-high and first top-three finish with a score of 9.850 on beam.
Illinois was ranked No. 24 following their performance against No. 12 Ohio State where they scored a total of 196.175 points.
Individually, Mia Takekawa earned recognition as she achieved her third score of 9.900 on beam in Columbus and is now ranked No.7 nationally in this category while Abby Mueller is ranked No.18 after scoring a floor exercise mark of 9.825 against Ohio State.
