City staff from the Equity & Engagement Department supported Pride on Market Street on Friday, September 20, 2024. The event was sponsored by United Pride of Champaign County as part of their week-long calendar of events for Pride Fest.
The event featured vendors, food, and performances. It partnered with Seven Saints and Pour Bros to offer queer performances including bands and a burlesque show. Youth of ‘She Spins’ showcased their newly learned skills just before their teacher, DJ Silkee, was crowned the Grand Marshall of this year’s Pride Parade.
Staff engaged with community members in festivities, contributing to a safe and enjoyable evening for all.
