A Garden Hills Neighborhood home had fallen into extreme disrepair. An exterior housing and several nuisance cases were opened on the property. The Neighborhood Services Department (NSD) contracted to remove a large amount of refuse from the yard, mow the lawn, and secure the property. The housing case was referred to the Legal Department, and it was expected that the City would have to demolish the property.
Before the City could proceed with legal action, the bank foreclosed on the property. A sheriff’s sale was held where a local property owner purchased it. They quickly made several improvements to the property. The property has undergone a significant transformation and is no longer a blight on the neighborhood.
