Illinois Volleyball Completes Comeback Against Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – Illinois volleyball achieved a reverse sweep against Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday, maintaining their undefeated status and improving to 5-0. Iowa State fell to 3-2 following the match.

Raina Terry led Illinois with 25 kills and four aces. Brooke Mosher contributed significantly with 41 assists and 10 digs for a double-double. Caroline Barnes recorded 19 digs, while Ashlyn Philpot and Cari Bohm each added four blocks.

Illinois took an early lead in the first set, but despite late efforts, dropped it 25-22. The second set saw a close contest, but Iowa State edged out Illinois 25-20.

In the must-win third set, Illinois led 15-13 at the media timeout and extended their advantage to win 25-17. They continued their momentum into the fourth set, securing a 25-21 victory to force a decisive fifth set.

The final set was tightly contested until a crucial 5-0 run gave Illinois an edge. A kill from Philpot brought them to match point, and Terry secured the victory with a final score of 15-13.

The Orange and Blue will face Wake Forest in the Cyclone Invitational finale on Sunday at noon.
