Martin O'Donnell to serve as honorary captain vs. No. 19 Kansas

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois' 2008 Rose Bowl co-captain Martin O'Donnell will serve as the Fighting Illini's honorary captain on Saturday against No. 19 Kansas. The game is scheduled to kick off at Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. CT on FS1.

O'Donnell was a four-year starter at left guard for the Fighting Illini. He started his career as a Freshman All-American in 2004 and ended his career as an AP first-team All-American in 2007, helping Illinois to the 2008 Rose Bowl Game. In 2007, O'Donnell and the Illini offensive line unit helped Illinois to a win at No. 1 Ohio State, including a punishing 8-plus minute drive to run out the clock and end the game.

O'Donnell is an executive vice president and president of Busey Bank's central region. He previously served as a radio analyst for Fighting Illini football games for nine seasons.
