Village of Mahomet Board of Trustees met Oct. 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER: Meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM

2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

3. ROLL CALL: Mohr called the roll, Trustees Colravy, Tompkins, Harpst, Preston, Oliger and Metzger are all present. Additionally, Sean Widener - Village President, Patrick Brown - Village Administrator, Joe Chamley - Village Attorney and Dawn Mohr - Village Clerk are present.

4. PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comment submitted to the clerk or in person.

5. PRESENTATION: Jayne DeLuce with Experience C-U. Jayne DeLuce presented to the board the 2024 experience guide and a wide variety of statistics related to tourism in Champaign County. Harpst did question shy communities outside of Champaign County are included and DeLuce explained that the regional offices regrouped, and Champaign County adopted several communities that were not served. She further stated that these communities have attractions that spill over into Champaign County bringing hotel and restaurant business to the County.

6. CONSENT AGENDA (TO BE ACTED UPON): Brown explained that there was a calculation error in the tax levy resolution and presented the corrected resolution. The board has no issue approving it on the consent agenda. Widener asked if there were any questions or comments. None are presented, Widener called for a motion to approve the consent agenda, Harpst moved and Preston seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 6-0.

1. Resolution 23-10-01, A Resolution Concerning Acceptance of Public Improvements for Unlimited Villas Subdivision.

D. POLICE: 

1. Resolution 23-10-02, A Resolution Declaring Certain Village Property as Surplus and Authorizing its Disposal.

E. ENGINEERING:

1. Resolution 23-10-03, A Resolution Authorizing an Engineering Services Agreement with Berns, Clancy and Associates for Planning and Engineering Services Associated with the Construction of the Lake of the Woods Road Sanitary Sewer Extension Project.

7. REGULAR AGENDA (TO BE ACTED UPON): 

A. ADMINISTRATION: 

1. Ordinance 23-10-01, An Amended Ordinance Authorizing Impoundment of Motor Vehicles Used in Commission of Certain Offenses. Champley explains that this ordinance is to replace ordinance 23-02-01 and that the reason for the change is there were several typos in the original ordinance. Widener asked if there were any questions or comments, none are presented. Widener called for a motion to approbe the ordinance, Tompkins moved and Colravy seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 6-0.

2. Resolution 23-10-04, A Resolution Appointing or Affirming Members if the Village of Mahomet Police Pension Fund. Brown explained that the board had a resignation and Carole Tempel is a logical replacement. Widener asked if there were any questions or comments, none are presented Widener called for a motion, Metzger moved and Preston seconded. Mohr called the roll - ALL VOTES YES 6-0.

3. Ordinance 23-10-02, An Ordinance Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Limited Tax Bonds, Series 2023 in the Principal Amount Not to Exceed $1,000,000. Widener asks if there are any questions or comments, none are presented, Widener calls for a motion, Tompkins moved and Oliger seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOES YES 6-0.

8. MAYOR'S REPORT: Widener goes over the November calendar and asks if there are any plans to be absent. None are expected.
