State Rep. Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) is criticizing Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker who recently established a tax-exempt issue advocacy nonprofit called "Think Big America" with a primary focus on protecting and expanding abortion rights nationwide.
Pritzker is providing funding and political support to the organization, which will combat pro-life efforts and promote pro-abortion initiatives in various states.
“Not a big thinker, a small-minded amoral sell-out to radical ideas,” Halbrook said on Facebook.
Pritzker has established "Think Big America," a tax-exempt issue advocacy nonprofit organization aimed at protecting and expanding abortion rights across the country. Known for his support of reproductive rights, he is contributing funding to initiate the organization, which will work to combat anti-abortion efforts, and has sent his political staff to aid in pro-choice initiatives in various states, including Ohio, Sun-Times reported.
The group, categorized as a 501c(4), will not be required to disclose its donors, and its mission extends to combating "far extremism in all its forms" while emphasizing abortion rights as its top priority.
Earlier this year, Pritzker played a pivotal role in defeating Ohio's Republican-backed measure known as Issue 1, which aimed to raise the threshold for changing the state constitution and making it more challenging to protect abortion rights, according to ABC Chicago. In that effort, he donated $250,000 and provided political strategists to aid in this effort, signaling his commitment to supporting pro-choice causes across the country and potentially increasing his influence on the national political stage.
Halbrook is a member of the Illinois Freedom Caucus along with State Representatives Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich), Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City), Chris Miller (R-Oakland), David Friess (R-Red Bud), Jed Davis (R-Newark) and Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur).
