Village of Mahomet Board of Trustees met July 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER: Widener called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM

2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

3. ROLL CALL: Mohr called the roll, Trustees Bruce Colravy, Jason Tompkins, Andy Harpst, Rebecca Preston and Bill Oliger were present. Additionally, Village President - Sean Widener, Village Administrator - Patrick Brown, Treasurer - Carole Tempel, Village Planner - Abby Heckman, Village Attorney - Joe Chamley, Transportation/Water Supervisor - Eric Crowley and Village Clerk - Dawn Mohr are present. Trustee Brian Metzger is absent. Public in attendance include Kelly Pfeiffer and Todd Johnson.

4. PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comment submitted to the clerk.

5. CONSENT AGENDA (TO BE ACTED UPON): Widener asked if there were any questions or comments on the consent agenda. None are presented Widener called for a motion to approve the consent agenda, Tompkins moved and Preston seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 5-0. Trustee Metzger is absent.

B. ENGINEERING: 

1. Resolution 23-07-01, A Resolution Awarding the MFT Crack and Joint Sealing Project to Freehill Asphalt, Inc. for the Amount of $45,750.00

2. Resolution 23-07-02 A Resolution Awarding the 2023 PCC Patching and Sidewalk Project to Knapp Concrete Contractors, Inc. For the Amount of $109,063.00

3. Resolution 23-07-03 A Resolution Awarding the Truss Bridge Temporary Support Project to Stark Excavating for the Amount of $19,786.00

4. Resolution 23-07-04, A Resolution to Approve a Supplemental Engineering Services Agreement from Hanson Professional Services for Engineering Redesign of South Mahomet Road from Churchill Road to Prairieview Road for the Not-to-Exceed Amount of $84,200

1. Resolution 23-07-05, A Resolution Concerning Acceptance of Public Improvements for Conway Farm Subdivision Phase 5.

2. Resolution 23-07-06, A Resolution for the Board of Trustees Concerning the Final Plat for Prairieside LSRD Subdivision Phase

3. Resolution 23-07-07, A Resolution for the Board of Trustees Concerning the Final Plat for the Knolls at Vision South Subdivision.

4. Resolution 23-07-08, A Resolution for Board of Trustees Concerning the Construction Plans for the Knolls at Vision South Subdivision.

5. Ordinance 23-07-02, An Ordinance Designating a Stop Intersection at Certain Location.

F. POLICE:

1. Resolution 23-07-09, A Resolution to Purchase Ten Panasonic Toughbook Laptops for an Amount not-to-exceed $55,000

6. REGULAR AGENDA (TO BE ACTED UPON): 

A. FINANCE: 

1. Treasurer's Report: Tempel highlighted several items in the report. Tempel explained that the new audit firm for the Village will be on site the first 2 weeks of November and that staff will be uploaded information ahead of time to help make the process move along more smoothly. Widener asked if there were any questions or comments. None are presented Mayor called for a motion to approve the treasurer's report, Preston moved and Oliger seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 5-0 Metzger is absent.

B. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: 

1. Resolution 23-07-10, A Resolution for Board of Trustees Concerning the Construction Plans for Prairieside LSRD Subdivision Phase 1. Heckman stated that the construction plans were not complete before the Study Session on the 18th was posted. Therefore this item was moved to the regular agenda. She asked if there were any questions about the plan. None were presented. Widener calls for a motion to approve the item. Colravy moved and Harpst seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 5-0. Trustee Metzger is absent.

2. Ordinance 23-07-03, An Ordinance Prohibiting Parking on Certain Streets Within the Village of Mahomet. Heckman goes over the plan as it was advised by members of the neighborhood, she stated that she reached out to all the neighbors for which she had contact information. She didn't receive any feedback. Todd Johnson, a resident of Northridge spoke to the fact that he placed notices on the doors to the neighbors who would be the most affected by the change. He didn't receive any negative feedback out of the 6 residents who contacted him were positive. Colravy spoke up and stated he was happy to see the residents input on the plan and that the board was able to act before school starts. Widener asked if there were any more comments or questions. None are presented. Mayor called for a motion to approve the ordinance. Tompkins moved and Preston seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 5-0 Metzger is absent.

8. NEW BUSINESS: Colravy spoke to some volunteer opportunities coming up with the Forest Preserve on August 5th at Lakes of Riverbend then again on August 19th at Lake of the Woods. Encourages families to come out to Lake of the Woods for the clean up event. Widener calls for Kelly Pfeiffer tom come forward and receive her certificate of appreciation for nearly 10 years of working with the Village. He stated that the Village was very sad to see her go however congratulated her on her new position in Bloomington Illinois. A photograph is taken of Widener and Pfeiffer.

9.  ADJOURNMENT: Widener called for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Harpst moved and Oliger seconded. Mohr calls the roll ALL VOTES YES 5-0. Meeting is adjourned at 6:16 PM.
