Piatt County 73rd highest taxed Illinois county in April

Piatt County taxpayers paid the 73rd highest amount in sales taxes in April, according to Illinois tax records.

Taxpayers in Piatt County paid $126,496 in April.

Piatt County was ranked 75th the month before.

Of all the taxes Piatt County residents paid for, County School Facility Tax was the most contributed to tax.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
