Gifford Fire Protection District responded to 25 calls in 2018 - 31.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Gifford included 10 fires - four structure fires, two vehicle fires and four other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $302,200 in fire loss - or about $30,220 per fire.

The department also received 14 false calls.

The Gifford Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $147,531 in 2018.
