Chambana Sun

There were 26 offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Danville during 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chambana Sun.

The data shows that 22 men and four women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for property crimes, one is a veteran, and the median age is 33. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 67-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Ladonna Johnson. She was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when she was 35 years old. She is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
