Rantoul City School District 137 issued the following announcement on April 11.
We're getting ready for another meal distribution Monday from 11 am to 1 pm at JW Eater Jr High School. Please listen to the whole video to hear about changes in traffic pattern.
We want you to know that we have many improvements that we anticipate will speed up the process a little. But remember, as if you were in a restaurant, it takes time to deliver 10,000 meals! This time we won't have learning packages to distribute, so that should help us make the process go faster. Please do not leave any learning packages completed. we need them until the next distribution of learning packages that will be April 27th. This is for food pickup only.
We've worked with the Rantoul Police Department and they have developed a traffic flow involving barricades at the following 5 intersections:
· Wabash Street and Century
· Marshall Street and Champaign
· Fredrick Street and Champaign
· Lincoln Street and Champaign
· Steffler Street and West
Traffic flow will be
· from Champaign and Steffler Street to the south,
· then turn west to Urbana Street
· then turn south on lincoln street.
or Lincoln, to Wabash, to JW Eater Junior High School where there will be two lanes
Also note that when we run out of food, we will continue to offer boxes of food donated to The Schools of the City of Rantoul from a food pantry. If you don't want this box, that's understandable. Note that the dates of those foods are " sell by dates " or " better before dates " that are not the same as " expiration dates ". You make your own decision whether you want to consume the product or not.
