There were four offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Vermilion County during the second quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chambana Sun.

The data shows that three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 40. The youngest parolee was a 29-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 52-year-old woman sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Mathiew Woodard. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 26 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
