City of Gibson issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.
The City is currently dealing with a water main break on Sangamon Avenue in the approximate area of 5th and 6th street. Select houses along Sangamon avenue have been shut off due to the repairs taking place. This also is a primary reason some residents may be experiencing rusty/discolored water. Please be patient while the City works to repair the break. Thank you for your cooperation.
