The regular meeting of the Board of Education, Gifford Community Consolidated School District #188, Gifford, Illinois was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Gifford School Board Room/Library.
Pledge of Allegiance & Roll Call
The meeting was called to order by President Matt Lomax at 6:00 p.m. The following members answered present to roll call: Neil Baker, Caroline Franzen, Traci Harris, Chad Hesterberg, Travis Huls, Matt Lomax and Alyson Suits.
Also present, Mr. Rod Grimsley, Superintendent, Jay Smith, Principal, Diane Baker, Office Manager, and Sandy Beherns, Faculty.

Mr. Grimsley presented information to the new board members about a workshop they could attend.
Report of the Superintendent
Building –
Old Gym- masonry work has been completed and now waiting on painters to get here to paint the entire gym. Original quote was for one side only, but there was some masonry work done to north side so whole gym will be painted.
Major Summer Projects- only one is the parking lot.
Financials-
Amended Budget- as of today, it appears that we will not need to do an amended budget for the year.
Tax Levy Extension for FY2020- tax bills are late this year so early tax money will be questionable as to when it gets here. The budget is not prepared annually needing early tax money.

The destruction of audio tapes older than eighteen months.

*IT WAS MOVED by Member Hesterberg and seconded by Vice-President Huls of the Board of Education of Gifford Community Consolidated School District #188 to approve the hiring of coaches for the 2019-20 school year, Roberto Gonzalez, softball assistant, Cory Roberts, baseball assistant, Joni O’Banion 7/8 volleyball, Ashley Pruiett 5/6 volleyball and Jennifer Clements, cheerleading.
