CHAMPAIGN CITY COUNCIL: Champaign Human Resources Director Announces Resignation

Champaign City Council issued the following announcement on June 25.

Jason Hood, Human Resources Director for the City of Champaign, has announced his resignation effective June 29, 2018. Hood will be leaving to assume a new position in the private sector.

Hood was appointed the City’s Human Resources Director on September 18, 2014. Prior to that he worked as the City’s Community Relations Manager and Compliance Officer for two years. Hood previously served as the Senior Director of Labor and Industrial Relations for The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC), HR/ADA Manager for Walmart Stores, Inc., HR/EEO Manager with Tyson Foods, and as an HR Specialist for the City of Decatur, Illinois.

City Manager Dorothy David said, “Under Jason’s leadership, Human Resources has served our City well, assisting departments across the organization in serving our community. Jason has maintained an open door for City employees who seek HR’s support and he has been a champion for employee development, fairness, and diversity and inclusion. I wish him great success as he takes this next step in advancing his career.”

The City of Champaign will launch a nationwide search for a new Human Resources Director later this summer.
