Champaign City Council issued the following announcement on May 25.
On Thursday, May 24, 2018 METCAD hosted an informational meeting for people interested in learning more about the position of Telecommunicator I (TC). The event, which drew approximately 30 people, was organized to provide an opportunity for potential applicants to develop an understanding of the METCAD structure, the responsibilities and expectations of being a Telecommunicator, and the hiring process. After a brief presentation to the entire group, attendees were encouraged to participate in small group discussions with METCAD and City staff on a variety of topics including: Recruitment and Hiring Process, Salary and Benefits, Life as a TC, Training Process, and Professional Development.
Staff participating in the event included METCAD Director Ralph Caldwell, Deputy Director Jeff Wooten, Operations Manager Betsy Smith, Supervisor Jenny Frost, Administrative Assistant Kristin Wright, Telecommunicator II Bradley Hardcastle, Telecommunicator I’s Lance Buyno, Travis Wallin, and Amelia Martin, and Stacy Rachel from the Human Resources Department.
Applications for Telecommunicator I are being accepted through 11:59 p.m. CST on Monday, May 28, 2018 through the City’s website, champaignil.gov/jobs.
