Graduates earn 650 degrees, certificates from Danville Area Community College

About 37.2 percent of the 650 degrees and certificates handed out by the Danville Area Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Danville conferred 178 certificates and 64 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 163 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 88 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 47 associate's degrees in General Studies.

The college enrolled 2,666 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
