Report: Armstrong-Ellis spent $18,859 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Armstrong-Ellis Community School District 61 is up 30 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Vermilion County school district spent $14,554 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $18,859 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 86 to 72.

Armstrong-Ellis's spending in 2016-17 was 45 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
