Cerro Gordo Fire Protection District responded to 25 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The calls in Cerro Gordo included 16 fires - seven structure fires, two vehicle fires and seven other fires.

The department also received nine false calls.

The calls resulted in three civilian non-fire deaths.
