Chambana Sun

Savoy Fire Department responded to 177 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the Chambana Sun.

The calls in Savoy included 98 fires - 85 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $179,780 in fire loss - or about $1,834 per fire.

The department also received 79 false calls, including four malicious calls and 75 other false calls.

One fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.
