A recent report indicates that 63,000 public servants across Illinois receive at least $100,000 each year as part of their taxpayer-supplied salaries.
In Champaign County alone, more than 2,400 public servants are paid an excess of $100,000, with the top earner reaching $563,466. The statewide cost shouldered by taxpayers amounts to $10 billion.
