Bement Community Unit School District 5 Board of Education met July 12.

Here is the agenda provided by the Board:

1. Call to order.

2. Roll call.

3. Comments from the audience.

4. Action Items.

A. The Board approves the resolution providing for the issue of General Obligation School

Bonds, Series 2017A, of the District, for the purpose of paying claims against the District, refunding certain outstanding obligations of the District, altering and reconstructing school buildings and purchasing and installing equipment therein for fire prevention and safety, energy conservation and school security purposes, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, and authorizing the sale of said Bonds to the purchaser thereof.

B. The Board approves the resolution providing for the issue of Taxable General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2017B (Qualified Zone Academy Bonds), of the District, for the purpose of altering and reconstructing school buildings and purchasing and installing equipment therein for fire prevention and safety, energy conservation and school security purposes, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, and authorizing the sale of said Bonds to the purchaser thereof.

C. The Board approves the resolution.

5. Adjourn to executive session to discuss the employment, compensation and performance of specific staff.

6. Return to open session.

7. Action items:

A. Official action on the resignation of Wendy Brown.

B. Official action on the employment of Annie Galindo as a kindergarten teacher for the 2017- 2018 school year.

C. Official action on the employment of a first grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.

8. Adjourn.
