The Bement Community Unit School District 5 Board of Education approved a new series of school bonds Feb. 10.
The bonds will cover general operating expenses for the district.
The board also approved Superintendent Sheila Greenwood's contract, and the hiring of Hilari Elzy as an elementary special education teacher and Chevauna Adams as assistant softball coach.
Greenwood also briefed the board on the district's technology inventory, citing 127 Chromebooks that are always reserved and used. Greenwood said there are more coming.
