Students from Champaign's South Side Elementary will participate in the Fuel Up to Play 60 Reward Summit April 5 in St. Louis.
South Side students were chosen because of their participation in South Side's own Fuel Up Team. As part of being on the team, students have pledged to live active and healthy lifestyles. The group is led by Principal Bill Taylor, Physical Education Teacher Brian Wenzel and School Nurse Destiny Decker.
At the summit, the South Side group will join 275 other students from the region for active games, nutrition games, a health meal and a talk from a dairy farmer.
