The Urbana Historic Preservation Commission unveiled a website last month that will allow residents to search a map of the 100 most significant landmarks in the area.
The map was created by Tim Hodson using funds from a Certified Local Government grant from the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. In addition to using the map to locate historic sites, users can also browse audio tours and search the sites according to architectural style, architect and address.
The commission also heard a report on the Greek Revival Cottage at Leal Park from planner Kevin Garcia, who said the building was battling flooding-related issues and mold in the basement.
The commission delayed consideration of a request by Brian Adams to grant the Stephen Henson House on 611 W. Elm St. historic landmark status, following a letter from the property owner's representatives. The property is owned by Hussinger Enterprise Inc.
Scott Dossett, Matt Metcalf, and David Seyler were absent from the meeting, which was adjourned after 13 minutes.
