The Urbana City Council approved a $7.25 million tax levy for 2015-16 at its Dec 14 meeting.
The levy allocates nearly $3 million for the library; $2.2 million for the general fund, including police department; $1.1 million for police pensions; and $891,504 for firemen pensions.
The levy passed by a 7-1 vote, with Michael Madigan opposed.
