Neighborhood Programs Manager Kerri Spear recently updated the Board of Commissioners at the Housing Authority of Champaign County on Bristol Place Phase II's selection process.
While Bristol Place Phase 1, which is currently in its second year of a three-year timeline, focused on acquisition, demolition, and relocation, Bristol Place Phase II will focus its efforts on creating parks, housing, and community spaces for the area.
In order to help outline the qualification criteria for the developments, subcommittees have been formed by Champaign County community leaders; Bristol Park, Garwood and Beardsley Park neighborhood residents; Champaign Park District representatives; Human Kinetics.
Meanwhile, the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Champaign County approved a waiting list for all qualifying individuals. Bristol Place Phase II will accept vouchers, such as Section 8, Housing Choice and other government assistance programs, for housing.
All individuals that are interested should apply. Applications will be accepted through December 31.
