Illinois head basketball coach Brad Underwood has announced the signing of Landon Davis to a Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement. Davis is set to join the University of Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team as a freshman for the 2026-27 season.

Standing at 6-foot-9 and weighing 215 pounds, Davis is from Waukee, Iowa. He is rated as a three-star recruit and holds the No. 146 national ranking in the class of 2026 by Rivals. Among power forwards, he is ranked No. 25 by Rivals and No. 34 according to the 247Sports composite rankings. In state-level assessments, he is listed as the fourth-best player in Iowa by Rivals and fifth by 247Sports.

Davis currently attends Waukee Northwest High School where he plays center under head coach Brett Watson. During his junior year, he averaged 10.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, and 2.9 assists per game, earning fourth-team All-State honors. His contributions helped lead his high school team to a record of 23 wins and four losses and a runner-up finish in the Iowa Class 4A state tournament in 2025.

On the AAU circuit with Iowa United, Davis posted averages of 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and one block per game while shooting efficiently at both two-point (61%) and three-point (40%) ranges during Adidas’ sponsored events.

"Landon is a physical player with tremendous athleticism and mobility who can play both inside and out," Underwood said in a statement announcing the signing. "He brings great positional versatility in the frontcourt. Landon has been well-coached, is an elite passer and processor, and overall is just a terrific young man with a bright future as he continues to develop."
