Illinois women’s golf stands 17th after first round at Landfall Tradition

Illinois women’s golf finished the first round of the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, North Carolina, in 17th place after posting a team score of 302, 14 strokes over par. The tournament, which brings together collegiate teams from across the country, saw Illinois compete in the opening 18 holes on Friday.

Anna Ritter led Illinois with an even-par 72, tying her for 22nd place individually. This marks the fourth round this season in which Ritter has led the Illini.

Victoria Zheng completed her round with a score of 74, two over par, placing her in a tie for 39th. She is currently tied for the tournament lead in total pars.

Alexis Myers recorded a 77, five over par, and is tied for 68th after the first round.

Erica Lee and Brielle Mapanao each shot 79, seven over par, tying them for 83rd place.

The Illinois team will return to action on Saturday, with the second round scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Central Time.
