#17 Illinois to host #1 Ohio State in sold-out football game at Gies Memorial Stadium
The University of Illinois Fighting Illini football team, ranked 17th nationally, will face the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, October 11, at Gies Memorial Stadium in Champaign. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Central Time and will be broadcast on FOX.
All tickets for the event have been sold out. Fans seeking last-minute tickets are directed to SeatGeek, which serves as the official ticket marketplace for Illinois Athletics.
In anticipation of large crowds and increased activity around the stadium, several street closures are planned. Kirby Avenue between First Street and Fourth Street will close at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10. On Saturday morning, additional closures will take effect starting at 6 a.m., including First Street between Kirby Avenue and Irwin Drive, Peabody Drive between First Street and Fourth Street, and Fourth Street between Kirby Avenue and Peabody Drive. At 7:30 a.m., Kirby Avenue at Oak Street, First Street between Kirby Avenue and St. Mary's Road, and Pennsylvania Avenue between Fourth Street and Sixth Street will also be closed. Access to Lot 15 parking structure will remain available during these times.
