Ameren Illinois will close one northbound lane of Prospect Avenue between Union Street and Healey Street to relocate a gas main. The closure is scheduled to start on Monday, October 13, and the lane is expected to reopen on Friday, October 24, 2025. During this period, northbound traffic on Prospect Avenue in the affected area will be limited to one lane.
According to Ameren Illinois, "In order to relocate a gas main, Ameren Illinois will close one northbound lane of Prospect Avenue between Union Street and Healey Street. The closure will begin on Monday, October 13, and will reopen on Friday, October 24, 2025. During the closure, northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in the area."
The City of Champaign has issued this notice as part of its regular updates regarding public works and construction projects.
