Illinois women's golf finished ninth at the Windy City Collegiate Classic, held at Glen View Club. The team recorded a total score of 876 (+12) over three rounds, with a final round of 300 (+12). Illinois led the tournament in pars, recording 179, and was among the top five teams on par-three holes.
Brielle Mapanao led Illinois with another under-par round of 71 (-1), marking her fifth time leading the Illini this season and her third consecutive round under par. She tied for fourth in total pars during the event and finished tied for 11th individually. Mapanao said, "The keys to success on this golf course were shot placement off the tee and being patient. The course was playing a little longer, so it was important to keep it simple and focus on one shot at a time. With Medinah coming up next week, we know there's a lot of good scoring opportunities, so dialing in on our irons and wedges will be important for next week."
Anna Ritter completed her rounds with scores of 74-73-74 (221, +5), finishing tied for 35th place. Alexis Myers ended tied for 44th after posting rounds of 72-72-79 (223, +7). Victoria Zheng scored 72-71-81 (224, +8) to finish tied for 48th overall. Erica Lee finished tied for 54th with scores of 76-75-76 (227, +11).
The team will compete next at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah in Medinah, Illinois, scheduled for October 6–7.
