Rep. Mary Miller, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district, used her social media platform in early October 2025 to criticize Democratic lawmakers over recent government shutdown events and highlight her office’s ongoing constituent services.
On October 1, Miller wrote on X, "Hardworking Americans will never forget — Democrats chose illegal aliens over YOU and shut down the government to prove it."
The following day, she posted an update regarding her office's activities for September: "September was another month of serving the hardworking people of IL-15. $778,422.06 returned to constituents. Even as Democrats voted to shut down the government, my office remains OPEN and ready to help you!" This statement emphasized that despite the federal shutdown, her congressional office continued its operations and constituent support.
Later on October 2, Miller shared another post critiquing Democratic lawmakers' stance on healthcare access for undocumented immigrants: "Watch every single Democrat hand shoot up when asked if they would give healthcare to illegal aliens. Democrats are loyal to illegals, not Americans. They have shut down the government to prove it."
Mary Miller has represented Illinois’ 15th district since 2021 after succeeding John Shimkus. She secured her seat by defeating Erika Weaver in the 2020 general election with 73.5% of the vote and was re-elected in 2022 against Paul Lange with a margin of 71.2%. These victories reflect significant support within her district.
