There were 6,360 Black students enrolled in Champaign County school districts in the 2023-24 school year, 1.7% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that Black students made up 25.6% of the 24,834 students in the county. They were the second most represented ethnicity.

Among the 14 districts in Champaign County, Champaign Community Unit School District 4 recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 3,836 students.
