There were 88 American Indian students enrolled in Champaign County school districts in the 2023-24 school year, 18.9% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Data showed that American Indian students made up 0.4% of the 24,834 students in the county. They were the least represented ethnicity.

Among the 14 districts in Champaign County, Urbana School District 116 recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 73 students.
