Several former University of Illinois Fighting Illini football players participated in the third week of the 2025 NFL season, representing various teams across the league.
Isaiah Adams started at right guard for the Arizona Cardinals, playing every offensive snap and four special team snaps during a narrow 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Tip Reiman also started for the Cardinals at tight end, recording two receptions for eight yards over 33 offensive and 14 special team snaps.
For the New York Jets, Tony Adams was not active in their 29-27 defeat by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Chase McLaughlin contributed eight points for Tampa Bay by making both field-goal attempts and extra-point attempts in that game.
Nick Allegretti took part in eight special team snaps as his Washington Commanders defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 41-24. Teammates Quan Martin and Jer'Zhan Newton were also active; Martin started at safety with three tackles over all defensive snaps, while Newton recorded two tackles on defense.
Chase Brown started at halfback for the Cincinnati Bengals but was limited to three rushing yards on ten carries and caught four passes for seventeen yards during a 48-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Ted Karras played every offensive snap at center for Cincinnati in that same game.
Sydney Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles made three tackles over twenty defensive and twenty-four special team snaps as his team beat the Los Angeles Rams 33-26. Pat Bryant played thirteen offensive snaps for Denver Broncos in their close loss to the Los Angeles Chargers; Alex Palczewski also appeared briefly on offense and special teams for Denver.
Tommy DeVito (New England Patriots), Casey Washington (Atlanta Falcons), and Devon Witherspoon (Seattle Seahawks) were not active this week.
Jake Hansen participated exclusively on special teams with one tackle as Houston Texans lost to Jacksonville Jaguars. Dawuane Smoot had four tackles for Jacksonville's defense during their win against Houston.
Nate Hobbs started at cornerback for Green Bay Packers, tallying two solo tackles in a low-scoring loss to Cleveland Browns. Kerby Joseph made three solo tackles from his starting safety position as Detroit Lions won against Baltimore Ravens.
Vederian Lowe saw action on two special team plays with New England Patriots. Del'Shawn Phillips contributed on twenty-seven special team snaps as Los Angeles Chargers edged out Denver Broncos. Jihad Ward registered a quarterback hit across twenty-nine defensive snaps despite Tennessee Titans falling to Indianapolis Colts.
