Several former University of Illinois football players contributed to their respective teams during Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season.

Isaiah Adams started at right guard for the Arizona Cardinals, playing every offensive snap and contributing on special teams in a 27-22 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Tony Adams, defensive back for the New York Jets, started at safety and recorded five tackles over 27 defensive snaps and three special teams snaps in a 30-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Nick Allegretti started at right guard for the Washington Commanders, participating in all 69 offensive snaps and four on special teams during a 27-18 defeat against the Green Bay Packers.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown started at halfback, logging 49 offensive snaps with 47 rushing yards on 16 carries and adding two receptions for 18 yards as his team edged out the Jacksonville Jaguars, 17-16.

Sydney Brown played safety for the Philadelphia Eagles, taking part in both defense and special teams while recording one tackle in a narrow win against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant saw action on offense, making his first two NFL catches for a total of 18 yards in a close loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Quarterback Tommy DeVito was not active for the New England Patriots’ win over the Miami Dolphins. Jake Hansen of the Houston Texans contributed exclusively on special teams during their loss to Tampa Bay.

Nate Hobbs played cornerback for Green Bay, registering a solo tackle as his team beat Washington. Kerby Joseph started at safety for Detroit, participating fully on defense with three tackles in a decisive win against Chicago. Joseph also continued his interception streak; highlights were shared by NFL via social media.

Ted Karras anchored Cincinnati’s offensive line at center throughout their game. Vederian Lowe participated on special teams for New England. Quan Martin made seven tackles as starting safety for Washington despite their loss to Green Bay.

Tampa Bay kicker Chase McLaughlin converted two extra points in a narrow victory over Houston. Jer'Zhan Newton registered a solo tackle across defensive snaps for Washington. Alex Palczewski contributed both offensively and on special teams for Denver.

Del'Shawn Phillips took part solely on special teams as Los Angeles Chargers defeated Las Vegas Raiders. Tip Reiman was not active for Arizona’s win over Carolina.

Jacksonville's Dawuane Smoot played nearly thirty defensive snaps during their close defeat by Cincinnati. Tennessee Titans’ Jihad Ward logged two quarterback hits against Los Angeles Rams.

Casey Washington (Atlanta Falcons) and Devon Witherspoon (Seattle Seahawks) were inactive this week.

Additionally, several Illini alumni are currently listed on practice squads: TeRah Edwards (Los Angeles Chargers), Kendrick Green (Buffalo Bills), Malik Turner (San Francisco 49ers), and Isaiah Williams (Cincinnati Bengals).
