Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Illinois’ 15th district, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts addressing faith, constitutional rights, and support for truck drivers between September 14 and September 15, 2025.
On September 14, Rep. Miller shared a Bible passage with her followers: "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. - Psalm 34:17-19" (September 14, 2025).
Later that day, she emphasized her perspective on the origin of individual rights by stating: "Sunday reminder: Our rights don’t come from the government. They come from Almighty God." (September 14, 2025).
The following day, Rep. Miller recognized National Truck Driver Appreciation Week with a message thanking American truck drivers: "It’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week! America’s truckers are the backbone of our nation, their perseverance and hard work keeps food on our tables, fuel in our tanks, and goods in our stores. Thank you to every truck driver who keeps America moving!" (September 15, 2025).
Mary Miller has represented Illinois’ 15th congressional district since replacing John Shimkus in 2021. She was first elected to Congress in 2020 after defeating Erika Weaver in the general election and was re-elected in 2022 with a significant majority over Paul Lange.
