With the Illinois football team set to play Western Illinois at Memorial Stadium on Friday night, several updates have been announced regarding parking and tailgating for fans attending the game. The kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
Accessible parking will be available starting at 7 a.m. CT in ADA spaces located in the four quadrants of State Farm Center. The fee for these spaces is $30 unless a patron has an I FUND parking pass. An accessible license plate or placard is required.
Single-game parking options begin at 7 a.m. CT on Friday, with a large grass lot in Research Park off Oak Street opening for use. At 5 p.m. CT, additional paved lots in Research Park and Veterinary Medicine will become available for single-game parking, also at a rate of $30 per automobile.
All game day parking operations are now cashless, requiring payment by debit or credit card. Digital tickets and parking passes can be accessed through the Fighting Illini mobile app.
Grange Grove will not allow vehicles inside but will open from 5-7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Aug. 28, for fans to set up tailgate items. On game day, Grange Grove opens at 7 a.m. CT and remains open until one hour after the game's conclusion. Reservations are required and can be made at https://revelxp.com/illinois.
Motor home parking will be available in Lot 33 beginning at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Aug. 28. Starting at 7 a.m. CT on game day, RVs must pay $100 to remain in the lot or move to their designated pass lot.
Game day pass holders can access Lots 31, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 42, 45, 46 and 47 starting at 7 a.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 29.
However, pass holders for Lots 37 (ARC), 43 (Parking Structure), and Lot 49 (FAR) cannot park there until after University of Illinois employee parking ends at 4 p.m. CT that day; earlier arrivals may use any open game day purchase lot.
Street closures have been scheduled to accommodate both event traffic and regular work week patterns:
- Kirby Avenue between First Street and Fourth Street closes at noon.
- First Street between Kirby Avenue and Irwin Drive closes at noon.
- Peabody Drive between First Street and Fourth Street closes at noon.
- Fourth Street between Kirby Avenue and Peabody Drive closes at noon.
- Kirby Avenue closes at Oak Street starting at 4:00 p.m.
- St. Mary's Road between Oak Street and First Street closes at 4:00 p.m.
- Pennsylvania Avenue between Fourth Street and Sixth Street closes at 4:00 p.m., though access to Lot 15's structure remains open.
